Hey, Creative Soul — Welcome to the story behind CrafTreat!
Once upon a time, I was a Software Engineer.

I spent my days solving problems with logic and code, and my free time doing something completely different — playing with paper, colours and craft supplies. Crafting became my happy escape, and before long, I found myself wondering why some things in crafting had to be so complicated.
Somewhere between my engineering brain and my love for creating, an idea started taking shape.
What if I could make crafting easier?
From Crafter to The Craft Shop
In 2012, I started The Craft Shop, importing and selling craft supplies from brands around the world.
This was when I got to see the craft industry from a completely different side.
I wasn't just looking at a beautiful product and thinking, “I love this!”
I was watching what customers actually picked up.
Which brands they connected with.
Which colours caught their attention.
Which design styles made them excited.
What they were looking for — and what they simply didn't care for.
I got to know different brands, their design languages, their collections and the changing preferences of crafters.
Without realising it, I was learning something incredibly valuable:
Beautiful is important. But beautiful and wanted are two different things.
And Then Came CrafTreat
In 2017, I took the next step and started CrafTreat.
Now I was no longer just selling craft products. I was designing them.
That meant learning a whole new side of the industry — product development, manufacturing, materials, production challenges, packaging, retailers, distributors and international markets.
The Craft Shop taught me to look at products through the eyes of a crafter and retailer.
CrafTreat taught me to look at them through the eyes of a designer and manufacturer.
And perhaps my engineering background quietly followed me into all of it.
I naturally started looking for ways to make things simpler, smarter and more efficient — not just for us to make, but for crafters to use.
What I’ve Learned Along the Way
After all these years, I’ve learned that good creative products sit at the intersection of design, experience and practicality.
You need to understand what inspires people.
You need to understand what they actually use.
And you need to understand how an idea can become a real product — one that can be made well, packaged well and eventually find its way into someone's hands.
That combination of creativity, market understanding and problem-solving is at the heart of everything we do at CrafTreat.
What CrafTreat Means to Me
CrafTreat is more than a business.
It is my way of making crafting feel less intimidating and more joyful.
It is about taking away the parts that make you think, “Oh no… this is going to take forever!” and leaving more room for the part that makes you smile and say,
“Look what I made!”
The Heart Behind the Hands
Behind every CrafTreat product is a team of women who bring patience, skill and a whole lot of heart to what they do.
When you choose CrafTreat, you are supporting real hands, real families and real dreams.
And that makes what you create with us a little more meaningful.
Why We Keep Going
Because crafting is more than paper and glue.
It is a quiet moment after a long day.
It is a memory being made.
It is the joy of trying something new.
It is the satisfaction of making something with your own hands.
And sometimes, it is simply the happiness of hearing:
“You made that?!”
That is the feeling we are here for.
What started as a love for crafting has grown into a journey through technology, retail, design, manufacturing and the global craft industry.
And after all these years, I’m still doing what I love most:
Creating things that make people want to create.
With gratitude,
Priya Sivaraj
